Hull Homeless Outreach
Here in Hull we provide a street kitchen every Wednesday evening on St Peters Street from 7pm. We also go around the streets searching for homeless people at night and ensure they have everything they need to survive out there on the streets
Hull Homeless Outreach was established in October 2013 and has considerably expanded and enhanced its charity efforts since then. Back then this foundation was known as Operation Safe Winter, but it has since then evolved into its full-fledged registered name of Hull Homeless Outreach. The team behind Hull Homeless Outreach started off doing little things to help the poor and homeless community thriving on the streets by going around giving them basic survival items such as clothes, blankets and food. They believe in giving back and earning good karma.
Hull Homeless Outreach operates in the UK and mission is to believe and make others believe in sharing, caring and helping those who are in need and who are less fortunate, lead better and easier lives. Thus we have established this foundation, Hull Homeless Outreach, so as to do what we claim to in our title; reach out to the homeless and offer them a helping hand.
Here at Hull Homeless Outreach we are part of a national homeless outreach programme where we now have teams in 6 cities in the United Kingdom. Here in Hull we provide a street kitchen every Wednesday evening on St Peters Street from 7pm. We also go around the streets searching for homeless people at night and ensure they have everything they need to survive out there on the streets. Fortunately for us, help comes in the form of the numerous volunteers who constantly come forward to help and who are all very dedicated to this cause. However, we are always in need of more volunteers and also donations of clothes, blankets and food as the more help there is, the more we will be able to help with our charitable cause.
Besides the above mentioned items, we also need donations of warm clothes, Sleeping bags, Ruck Sacks, Hats, Gloves, Socks, Underwear, toothpaste, tooth brushes, Deodorant, Soap, Ladies Sanitary products and such other day to day usage items. As kids we were taught by our parents and teachers to perform one good deed a day. Here at Hull Homeless Outreach we follow that golden rule on a daily basis and believe that by helping others, we help ourselves. We are not saying this to entice volunteers or for our personal gain but the fact that we have known from our personal experiences of giving and helping is that the kind and noble act generates a feel good vibe. It makes you feel all fuzzy and warm and truer words haven’t been spoken when someone said, “The happiness you achieve when you help someone and make them smile is unrivalled and cannot compete with the one that occurs when we receive something.”
Hull Homeless Outreach conducts its meets on St Peters Street in Hull, just a little way past Dock House. We believe that charity gets you good karma as the age old saying goes, ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’. Contact us whenever you feel like you are in the mood for bettering the society.
